Submissions

The School Musicals Company welcomes submissions from writers and composers who feel their work has the potential to suit performance by children between the ages of 3-11 (for songs and nativities) and 7-14+ (for musicals). 

All writers and composers are welcome to submit, regardless of previous experience. 

We aim to acknowledge receipt of each submission within seven days, so please do feel free to prompt us if you have not heard back. 

Following initial receipt, we will be in touch within six weeks to let you know whether or not we would like to discuss the submission further. 

Guidelines

All submissions should be sent electronically to info@theschoolmusicalscompany.com and marked FAO Tom Kirkham, Publishing Director. 

Please do not send physical copies of any work. 

In your email, please provide information about yourself as a writer/composer, including whether your work has been published elsewhere. 

If you are submitting a musical or a nativity, please provide a synopsis of the show, some script samples (as pdfs) and sample songs or song clips (as mp3s). Please also provide information about cast size, duration, scene structure and intended age of performers. There is no need to submit the show in its entirety: if we feel it may be a suitable fit for our publishing requirements, we will contact you to discuss things further. 

If you would like to submit examples of assembly songs, please send as mp3 files and include lyric sheets or sheet music (including lyrics) in your submission. 

All songs (including for musicals and nativities) should include a vocal recording, rather than an instrumental substitute.
